Algol Myth

ALGOL:
Al Ghul is the Arabic name for the star that is called Caput Algol and represents Medusa’s severed Head in the Perseus Constellation. The binary star, which twinkles as it eclipses itself every 3 days for 8 hours, is the blinking eye of the beheaded Medusa, who continues to guide Primordial Creation and Protect the Force of Nature.

Algol star lore is associated with stories of primordial creation, destruction of the divine feminine or the Dark Void. Algol is also associated with losing one’s head – in madness and rage, decapitation or handing. (Or from alcohol (alghul) drowning the throat permits the “demons” to possess the body of one who has lost their head -drunk.) A ghoul is a demon-like creature. Algol is also in ancient patriarchal depiction described as the Demon Star, in modern regeneration of the meaning it is recognised as the suppressed feminine awakened force. In Sanskrit, Medha is a feminine name given to one of the forms of Saraswati, meaning sovereign feminine wisdom.
Although Medusa became remembered as the serpent headed hideous gorgone, she was once the most beautiful mortal who served as a priestess oracle in the Temple of Athena. Until Athena was enraged and jealous that Poseidon fell in love with her, (High Frequency Consciousness came to her, she became enlightened) the myth tells that despite rejecting him Poseidon (depending on the depiction of the tale) had his way with her, desecrating the temple of Athena, or his lust for her enraged Athena – too many suitors wanting Medusa and not Athena – jealousy. So, Medusa was cursed by Athena, exiling her as a gorgone that turned anyone who looked at her to stone.
After Perseus was sent to decapitate Medusa he used a mirror to be able to see her but not be turned to stone and he slain her while she slept. Medusa’s head was placed on Athena’s shield and protected all who carried Her courageously in victory at battle, defeating her enemy as Medusa’s gaze would petrify and turn them to stone.
Algol is known to protect from evil 🪬 which is why it is listed as one of the 15 Fixed Behenian Stars of Medieval Astro-Stellar Alchemy (Astrology)
Algol: Fixed Star Algol off the ecliptic plane is transposed to 26º Taurus, The Primordial Feminine Perseverance, Protects from Evil. Courage to Rise from Suppression, teaching moderation in the form of appreciation and respect. Some fear based teachings place it as a demon star linked to severing of the head, strangulation and decapitation, and violent painful rage, poison, feminine hysteria, uncontrolled female wrath. Keep a watchful eye on the “mind poisons” that surf the collective field. (The fiasco with politics, collective narratives, cultural movements, wars and widespread suppression aim to blind you, keep your channels clear and the waters running through you pure.) Be mindful of distractions that distract, enrage or poison the creative thinking, wisdom and embodiment of Light, Spirit. Miraculous unfoldings occur when you trust your inner wisdom, befriend your subconsciousness, the darkness that becomes you.
And remember to use this time to cleanse, alchemise, heal and unite the traumatic wounds that linger in your own shadows shrouding your beautiful essence from reunification as a sovereign embodiment of Divinity.
From the symbolic interpretation of the myth we can see the similarities with Lilith. The Primordial Feminine Creative Force – capable or equally creating and destroying. Lilith was misrepresented as hysterical and monstrous because she would not tame to Adam’s will The will of Humanity, instead She was a force of the Divine Will that could not be tempered by mortal).
Lilith, like Medusa (Algol) are quintessential Dark Forces, in the right measure, they represent the creative life force, beauty, desire and sexual alchemy, wisdom, death and evolution. In the wrong ‘hands’ or when the eyes are blinded by jealousy and rage the destruction and death becomes laden in violence, wrath and woe. When darkness and unseen wisdom is misunderstood they become feared and demonised – The old way of suppressing most feminine attributes, mysticism, and alchemy of our partnership in this Universe.
When in balance, this alchemy of primordial darkness can purge the trauma from the subconsciousness and activate a kundalini awakening. (Medusa had a head of snakes – Kundalini Awakened) With Mars and Uranus conjoined this star this week (July 15th 2024)… this would be -best case scenario- a wonderful time to collectively purge and heal humanity and it’s trauma response of rage, war and losing one’s head! Don’t let farcical narratives enrage you, just little webs trying to keep you in fear mode of the Dark that seeks to empower you now.
