Virgo Season 2025 – The Soulful Gardener and the Regal Heart

The Sun enters Virgo, Mutable Earth, at the end of the night on the 22nd August, where spirit is asked to move through matter with humility, rhythm, and devotion. Virgo is the gardener of life – the herbalist, the craftsperson, the healer through touch and presence, the whisperer to animals, the hand that participates and cares with love in the small diligent gestures.

Mutable Earth reminds us that life is not fixed – soil is turned, seeds planted, sprouts emerge, blossoms fade, decomposition enfolds, cycles repeat. Giving and receiving, order and release, effort and trust: each is part of the exchanging presence. Virgo invites us into this dance of discernment and grounded service.

This year’s season is marked with two New Moons in Virgo. The first, on the morning of 23rd August at 0° Virgo, conjoins Royal Fixed Star – Regulus, the “Heart of the Lion”. The gardener’s humble hand is anointed with regal grace. Service becomes sovereign-hearted. Archangel Raphael, one of the Watchers, guardian of healing, walks with this Moon, reminding us that forgiveness and compassion are the true ground of order.

Since 2011 the Regulus was the last of the 4 Royal Stars to shift from Fixed Signs to Mutable. (Royal Stars, or Watchers: Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares, and Fomalhaut – the four most prominent starts in ancients astrology and astronomy, regarded as celestian guardians and markers of the four cardinal directions.) This is a huge alteration as since the Fixed Cross or Watchers changed posts and our world now calls for new founding narratives to guide us, as we are still in these early days of about a 2,160 year cycle we are seeing the dissolving of the old narratives that had worn stale and the revelations of core truths being woven from the threads of Origin into these new phases.

How can routine become ritual, and duty become devotion?
Where is self-respect needed, not as ego, but as fertile soil for compassionate service?
What aspects of body, heart, and vocation are calling for regal care through grounded attention?

September brings further intensification with Eclipse Season:

A Lunar Eclipse on 7th September, unveiling what must be released.
A Solar Eclipse on 21st September, the day before the Autumn Equinox, when the Sun weighs the heart against the feather of truth. A moment to balance mind and soul, service and sovereignty, humility and grace.
