Know the Depth, Feel the Height

A Reflection on the Sun, Pluto, Neptune and Uranus

Sun • Pluto • Neptune • Uranus

27th July 2026

The Sun at 4°♌︎ Leo opposes Pluto at 4°♒︎  Aquarius, trines Neptune 4°♈︎ Aries, and forms a sextile with Uranus at 4°♊︎ Gemini.

Know the depth and feel the height, but claim nothing of it.

As the Sun moves into opposition with Pluto today, it illuminates more than itself. It brings conscious awareness to the harmonic that has quietly been unfolding through the recent ‘Basket’ configuration. The Sun now occupies the place where Jupiter stood, inviting our identity, our choices and our awareness into this larger collective story.

The Sun reveals.

Pluto transforms.

Neptune dissolves.

Uranus awakens.

Together they ask us not simply to see, but how we choose to meet what is revealed.

There is a profound tension within this pattern. The Sun seeks to know itself, while Pluto strips away every identity that no longer serves our evolution. Between them lies the invitation to hold the paradox without rushing to resolve it. To remain present with both shadow and light, certainty and uncertainty, creation and dissolution, allowing consciousness itself to deepen.

Neptune does not necessarily soften this encounter. Rather, it offers different currents through which it may unfold. At its highest expression, Neptune inspires compassion, imagination, surrender and grace – allowing something greater than our personal will to guide us. At its lower expression, it can deepen illusion, confusion, spiritual bypassing or the misuse of power concealed behind beautiful ideals.

And Uranus introduces an entirely different frequency. It awakens through revelation. That jolt of truth that reminds us we are not who we thought we were. Not a remembering in the psychological sense, but the sudden flash where something ancient becomes immediately obvious.

Perhaps this is why these times feel so significant. We are invited to become more discerning without becoming cynical. More compassionate without becoming naïve. More open without surrendering our integrity.

The Sun opposite Pluto is not asking to conquer our shadow, but whether our identity is spacious enough to include it.

Power is rarely found by becoming larger. It is often found in becoming transparent enough that something greater can move through us.

And while I attempt to write on this from an objective perspective it is written from a personal, lived experience.

My own natal chart carries the same geometry at the 3°. Sun in Taurus opposite Pluto in Scorpio while forming trine Neptune in Capricorn. While my solar aspect to Uranus is not in sextile like today, my chart carries a Sun sesquisquare Uranus.

Alongside this I am moving through the midlife transits that we all experience around forty. With Pluto squaring my natal Pluto and Neptune squaring my natal Neptune. And for the second year I have the Sun Pluto opposition forming a grand cross with my chart.

It has been an extraordinary initiation.

But I will wait until this 18 month Pluto Square transit is over to write on this completely.

For me, this is not just a transit, but my natal signature. The intense, blissful and chaotically enchanting lens through which I experience life. I do not possess this geometry but I will spend this lifetime learning to navigating myself through it. It is the atmosphere I inhabit and, inevitably, the essence I teach from.

I make no claim to have mastered this celestial mathematics. I am simply exploring the poetry of the skies as I wander their landscape. Each year, with hope, a little more grace and finesse.

Perhaps that is all any of us are doing. Learning to hold the atmosphere our soul arrived with, allowing it to become less about the identity and more about the landscape, the life, we serve. Not ownership. Not claiming it. Just tending to it.

Perhaps this signature simply reminds us that the portal is already open. The reminder. Astrology doesn’t determine what walks through it, that remains in the hands of consciousness.

So today, amongst all that is going on,

pause.

Place your hand to your heart ♌︎.

Breathe deeply ♒︎, cherishing that inhale.

And open to the vastness of what you are. And notice what you are genuinely choosing to become.
