Transcending the Fear of the Omega

Autumn Equinox 2026

Transcending the Fear of the Omega

. Aequus Nox. Equal Night .

Autumn Equinox brings us to that place of balance. A moment suspended between light and dark. A tipping point for us in the Northern Hemisphere, where the darkness begins to gain.

The Sun at 0º Libra. The out-breath of Cardinal Air. The sigh of release, the motion towards recharge.

Within the Wheel of the Year, this is a harvest time. We gather what has ripened and give thanks for what has grown. But there is another movement already beginning beneath the beauty of the harvest.

The fruit falls.

The fruit decomposes.

The seed disappears into darkness.

Life begins its descent.

And perhaps that is where we can look for inspiration this year.

The Spring Equinox this year began by greeting Neptune at the threshold of its long passage through Aries. Now, six months on, the Sun reaches Autumn Equinox and moves towards its opposing reflection with Neptune.

Neptune, the dissolver of boundaries. The imaginal and oceanic, elusive essence that dismantles our carefully constructed definitions and evolves us through soft, luminescent uncertainty.

Neptune is a descent of another kind. One of at-one-ment, sweet release, unseen renewal through reunion with the unknown, the all-encompassing, the sublime.

While, of course, it can offer the delusion and deception of selfhood, the disembodiment and lure of escapism that evades evolution and perpetuates devolution, we enter into relationship with this cosmic archetype in the hope of attaining its higher frequency and imbuing ourselves with its elevating call. Dissolution not as punishment, but as reunion, truthful self-reflection, compassionate resonance with life.

With Neptune stewarding this year’s Equinox points, the questions asked are:

At Aries:

Who am I becoming?

And at Libra:

What am I willing to relinquish?

The Omega.

There is something about descent that we have learnt to fear.

  • The ending, the darkness, the unknown.
  • The self-reflection, the acceptance of projection, the awareness of polarity.

The Omega is the point of completion. A place where something has reached the end of its present form and must be released. It is not necessarily annihilation, but dissolution, decomposition and return.

What we often fear as an ending may simply be life changing form.

It is like the moment fruit begins to decompose and no longer resembles what it once was. We are very comfortable celebrating the seed becoming the flower. But can we honour the flower becoming the soil?

The return.

Can we allow an identity, belief, relationship, dream or vision of ourselves to complete without immediately interpreting its dissolution as failure?

The darkness is not asking us to overcome it. It is asking us to enter.

Open-hearted.

Balanced in perspective.

Seeking resonance with what is.

The Ancient Egyptians referred to the Duat, the mysterious realm through which the Sun travelled each night before being reborn at dawn.

The Sun did not defeat the night. It travelled through it.

And returned.

The Harmonic Mind.

Libra teaches us balance.

Balance is not stillness. It is movement.

A continual oscillation around a centre.

Somewhere we have forgotten, yet the amnesia is wearing off.

We do not have to remain perpetually in the light in order to be whole.

We move.

We can descend and rise.

Contract and expand.

Grieve and delight.

Release and create.

♥️ The Heart knows how to do this.

🪶 The Breath knows how to, too.

Can our Consciousness, our Perception and Egoic Mind find resonance with the Breath and Heart?

Harmony is not created by resisting one end of the oscillation, but by allowing ourselves to move through the whole wave cycle.

There are things I have discovered this year that I simply do not need to carry any more. Not because they do not matter, and not because I am releasing and forgetting, letting go to erase.

No.

But I do not need to carry their weight as the measure of their value in my life.

The descent and rise occur. What we meet within that oscillation can alter us, change our perspective, even change the shape of who we are. But perhaps its weight does not need to define us.

In the ancient Egyptian image of the scales, representative of Libra, the heart meets the feather.

What if we can be altered by what we travel through, without carrying all of its weight as proof of our journey?

Reflection.

So, as the dark is gaining, the invitation of this Equinox calls us toward reflection.

  • Beyond the smoke and mirrors, what is this year showing me?
  • How can I reorient towards Truth?
  • What story or identity am I ready to see differently?
  • What comes to the Omega gateway, seeking integration and transcendence through the unknown season of renewal?

A harvest is not only what we keep, but what we allow to fall.

Acceptance is a foundation of orientation as we embrace the Equal Night and the coming Autumn and Winter season.

What decomposes now becomes the nourishment for what comes next.

So, perhaps we need not fear the descent, but we can draw on this year’s invitation and soften into the great oscillation of life.

Light into dark.

Form into formlessness.

Beginning into completion.

Alpha to Omega.

And have faith in the return.

Resonance becomes the music we offer life.

And this is how we dance again.

And this is how we sing again.

Blessings to you as you welcome the New Yin half of the Year.
